Developed by early settlers as a variation on English and Irish pie versions (Cornish Pasty, Steak and Kidney Pie, Guinness Pie), the traditional Aussie meat pie consists of minced beef and gravy. We encase our pies in a flaky hot lard crust. Eat cold our heat in the oven at 425F for 18-20 minutes.
